Mia Echols and four other are different from everyone else. Their parents had made a deadly mistake and their children have to suffer the consequences of it. On the day the turned three, a witch places a curse on them. They were given powers and learned how to control them as they grew. It doesn't seem too bad, right? Wrong. On the seventeenth birthday, also known as their Golden Day, they all will be transformed. They will receive new powers and their former ones will bece stronger. Their skin and body will change and they all will become strikingly and unrealistically beautiful. But on the Golden Day, it is said that during the process of the body change, there will be a mishap. The process will mess up the head of two of them. Their brain will be programmed to turn against the other three. They will betray them and become their enemy. But no one knows who it is. The only person that does know is the witch that had cursed them. The cursed five have to find her in time before the Golden Day. The last time anyone has seen her, she was in a small cabin in the middle of a the Oconee National Forest. The problem is, they live in Colorado, and their seventeenth birthday is coming up. The Five have less than two weeks to get across the country and to the middle of a forest. On their journey to Georgia, Mia thinks things through thoroughly. She knows that the two are going to target her first, and begins to question who she could really trust.
