«Be the change you want to see in the world» This sentence inspired me writing this story. Unfortunately, humanity doesn't care about their acts consequences until they affect them directly: "no matter if I act right, people will still act wrong, so why would I botter? It wouldn't change anything, I'm just one person" Well, in this 500 words I've tried to prove this wrong, and to send a message of hope and self-improvement. So thanks if you read it; now I leave you, it's time to make that wave happen ;) ----- (I'm spanish, so I may have grammar or vocabulary mistakes in this story, I would be very grateful if you told me about them in case you spot any. Thanks!) Credits to Lindsay Rapp, whose picture I took for the cover page !! En mi perfil puedes encontrar la traducción al castellano "Nueva Ola", también escrita por mí para la iniciativa de National Geographic #planetorplastic

After major coastal cities sink to the bottom of the ocean at the end of the twenty-first century, the richest inhabitants of Earth escape the planet to build new colonies in a distant solar system. Thirty six light years away from the Milky Way galaxy, centuries have passed and humanity is well established. Among the most notable establishments is a prestigious university for the study of alien biology. Moira, a girl with a pervasive developmental disorder, but a talented student nonetheless, navigates the challenge of interplanetary university life as she researches a rare and endangered species. When a deeper threat emerges that challenges the existence of these creatures, she must team up with her classmates and find a solution to a problem much bigger than they could ever hope to be. ***** Credits: The cover is courtesy of the brilliant @vertigo_moon from The Vertigo Graphics while the line editing/proofreading/grammar check was done with a lot of input from Halyn Bleiz a.k.a vin_elend from the Floret community and Katie Marie from the Coven of Bookworms community. They have my gratitude. The blurb was written with some help from @RowanCarver and I am thankful for her feedbacks.
