Years after Riley ran away with her friends and true love, they have all had children and gotten married. Now, after hearing that her mother is ill and may not live for much longer, the gang follows Riley back. When her mother is told how long she has left, Riley and her group are forced to stay where they ran away from.
Once she is 13, Riley's daughter Avery hears stories about what happened all those years ago. She becomes determined to do three things: heal the relationship between her mother and grandmother, learn about her true roots, and stop Natalie from stealing the boy she likes.
Sequel to my other book, Runaways. Should probably read it if you want to understand more of the context and backstory.
