I stepped into the shower, toes flinching as they touched the chilled ceramic floor. My mind was torn; I would never get that night out of my head. I turned the knob, it was both old and metallic, letting loose thousands of tepid drops, blackening my hair and running down my back.

The water made its way down my  body soothingly yet there was nothing but pure torture behind it agonizing warmth. I was filthy from my head down to the soles of my feet and no amount of soap or water could cleanse me. 

When I finished my shower, I wrapped a towel around myself and stood before the mirror. My long hair dripped with water and eyes had no sense of life to them.
