Elizabeth McBride, a 16-year-old girl who loves to paint, just got out of the hospital after having from the most traumatic experience in her life. She now spends her time holed up in her room, refusing to eat more than one meal a day, painting dark portraits of death and blood and gore, listening to her radio and songs from musicals, and crying. She knows she needs help but she doesn't know how to ask for it without making herself vulnerable. But how will she live her life to the fullest without being vulnerable at least once?
