Ridgewood's Black Market is home to many criminals and not all of them are as bad as their occupations suggest. A caring thief, an assassin that can no longer kill, and a rebel leader that wants nothing more than to bring peace are just a few of these exceptions.

When one of the Market's thieves decides to steal the Queen's crown in response to the brutal Winter taxes, her life changes for the worse. Gwendolyn spends the next year hiding from the Queen's wrath, and just when she thinks she's safe again, something goes wrong.
