Amber Jade walked through the forest, a rather large golden eagle perched on her right shoulder, while a smaller falcon was perched on the opposite shoulder. The grass beneath her boots gave a satisfying crunch before a rustle in a bush north-east of her caught her birds' attention. The golden eagle lifted off silently, as the falcon imitated her & quietly propelled herself from her shoulder. Amber Jade glared at the rustling bush & her cat-like pupils tightened at her target. She reached for an arrow from her quiver & delicately held it between her middle-finger & her fore-finger, she grabbed her bow with her other hand. Holding back the string, she wound up her arrow & let loose. The arrow swiftly shot from the bow & hit the tree behind the rustling in the bush, closely missing the creature.

The bush yelped, Amber Jade's head tilted slightly & she narrowed her vivid-orange eyes, intensely glaring at the bush.

"Bushes don't yelp..."

"Are you alright, baby?" His voice was deceptively soft, a cruel mockery of concern. Aashvi's breath hitched. She curled into herself, her voice barely audible. Tears formed in her eyes "Why are you doing this to me? Please... just let me go. I didn't do anything." Veer didn't answer. Instead, with a snap, he shut the laptop and stood. His movements were slow, deliberate-like a predator taking its time before pouncing. She flinched as he stepped toward her, her pulse hammering in her ears. She pressed herself against the headboard, gripping the duvet as if it could shield her from him. "P-Please... stay away," she stammered, her voice trembling. Her mind is struggling with the thoughts how can she save herself from a monster like him. Her innocenct heart is screaming with terror. He will do very bad with her!! He will do that- She can't say that terrible thing. He arched a brow, his head tilting slightly. "Now you're afraid of me?" His voice was cold, emotionless, but there was something unreadable in his eyes. Warning ⚠️ Mature, torture, dark scenes, traumatic past. Whispers Between the Stars. by inknpap3r
16 parts Ongoing Mature
Beneath a sky blanketed in the velvet embrace of night, a soft wind stirred the leaves of ancient oaks, carrying with it the scent of rain yet to fall. In the quiet town of Evershore, where the ocean's rhythmic murmur brushed against the cliffs like a lover's sigh, there lived a woman named Isabella. She had spent most of her life in the gentle comfort of routine, her days flowing like the tide-predictable, safe, and calm. Yet beneath the surface of her carefully constructed world, there was a yearning. It was as if her heart had once known a great love, a love that had slipped away like the sand between her fingers. She didn't know why it felt this way; only that something deep within her had been left unsatisfied, a part of her soul forever seeking something just out of reach. One evening, as the sun dipped low and painted the sky in shades of gold and rose, Isabella stood at the edge of the cliff that overlooked the vast, infinite ocean. The wind, carrying the promise of rain, whispered through her hair, and for the first time in years, she allowed herself to dream of something more than what she had. There was a restlessness in her, a quiet understanding that her life had been a quiet prelude to something she could not yet name. It was then that she saw him. A figure emerged from the mist that clung to the water's edge, a man whose presence seemed to defy time and space. His dark hair tousled by the wind, his gaze intense yet distant, as though he had come from a place beyond the horizon, a world Isabella had never known but somehow remembered. His eyes met hers-strangers' eyes, but not unfamiliar-and something inside her stirred, as though a forgotten part of her had just been awakened. The world held its breath. The sea sighed. And Isabella knew, with a certainty she could not explain, that her life was about to change forever.

Wren's life is about to change forever - but not how she expects it to. Kidnapped on her wedding day, she finds herself trapped in a mountain cave, unable to return home with no company outside of the inhuman creature that took her. *** "Wait, Wren! Not that way!" It was darker here and panic limited her vision, but she could see it reaching for her; its wings like two huge looming shadows behind it. "Get away! Don't touch me! No, let me go!" She shrieked. She screamed in earnest as a hand took hold of her arm, and then even more when her own hand reached for something to hang onto and grasped at empty air. She had been scrambling towards a sudden drop! The hands hauled her back, but she still struggled. She didn't want to look at it, and she still wasn't sure she wouldn't rather take her chances with the open air instead. "Stop it, I'm not going to hurt you! You'll hit your head on the rock or something. Wren, please!" It knew her name. Somehow it knew her. She was going to die! "Let me go! Stop touching me!" She was sitting on the rocky floor now with her back against an uneven wall, and it was trying to pin her down and hold her still. She kept her eyes turned away and struggled helplessly, but it was no use. It was strong like a human man too, and she couldn't keep it off of her. The wings had moved until they curved around them both and shut out a lot of the light. Its face was so near hers that she could feel its breath brushing against her skin. "Please just look at me for a second. Just look. I'm not going to hurt you." One of the hands grabbed her chin and forced her head to turn, and then she was looking straight into a pair of dark brown eyes. It had a human face too. She had been expecting something monstrous or ghastly, and the surprise made her falter for a moment. He looked young, with a bad haircut and an earnest expression on his face. "I'll let go of you, okay? Just don't lunge around like that anymore, you'll get hurt." He whispered.

The tree was a little damp as I was leaning on it, yet, I didn't mind. I continued reading my book as small snowflakes fell from the sky, I slowly brushed them away, as they got in my way. I had seen Nana hiding behind one of the trees, but I pretended that I hadn't seen her. Nana was wearing her usual winter outfit, the denim brings out her eyes and hair, although I don't think she knows this. She'd placed on the light hoodie on top of that, then her navy fluffy coat. Nana pounced onto me, hugging me by the waist. I smiled, and she gave me an immature, cheeky grin, like a three-year-old, "You're late." I answered, closing the book. I shrugged, "So, what was it you needed to tell me? In this weather." I asked her, pointing up at the dark, prominent clouds, covering the natural blue sky. Nana took a deep breath, standing upright in front of me, "Well, you know how the holidays are coming up..." she began. ⎡ UPDATED COVER ➜ OCTOBER 15TH, 2022 ⎦ Story Began: 02/08/2021 Finished: 26/2/2022 Editing Completed: 3/4/2022 (ALTERNATE UNIVERSE)

Branches slapped her cheeks, the gnarled root of an old tree suddenly caught her foot- She crashed to the forest floor with a gasp. The pain shot through her ankle like a blade, but she didn't stop. She pushed herself back up and ran again. A low-hanging branch snagged her veil-rip! Grazed her shoulder too. Still, she ran. Her breath came in broken gasps. She glanced over her shoulder. No one. Only the sound- Heavy thuds. Boots crushing dried leaves behind her. Her bare feet bled as she stepped on a brittle twig. She winced, stumbled, but didn't stop. Her heart was beating in her ears. Louder. Louder. She bit down on her lower lip, tasting blood. Suddenly- Thump! She crashed into something hard. "Ow!" she gasped and staggered back, thinking it was a tree. But it moved. A towering figure was in front. She froze. Then- "No!" she whimpered, trying to back away. Too late. A brutal tug on her hair jerked her head back. "Where to?" His voice was low and cold, his hand clenched tightly in her hair. "Leave me!" she screamed, struggling violently. He started dragging her. "Let go of me!" She fought back, landing a weak punch on his stomach. "Bitch," he spat. "Shut up before I loose all my patience with you." And then- He flung her up and threw her over his shoulder like a sack. In the moonlight, he looked some big bad Werewolf. "Put me down!" she cried, punching his back, clawing-but his skin felt like stone beneath her fingernails. He halted again. And dropped her. She hit the dry ground. Before she could crawl away, he knelt beside her- Then straddled her, his shadow engulfing hers. "No," she whispered, going deathly pale. Eyes wide. Lips trembling. The Story of Midnight by Silverwynd

"Who's out there?" One of the men yelled. Of course only silence met them. I remained quiet and waited for the group to start moving again. "Maybe it was just an animal." Someone whispered. The person, who I assumed was the captain of the small squad, signaled for them to walk again. They clearly showed fear as they kept going; brandishing their weapons to guard themselves with. "Two are holding lanterns. I'll tell you when you're too close to them." I heard my friend whisper in my ear. I followed the men as I picked up another branch and waited for the right time to break it. They continued to walk through the forest, turning their heads in every direction as if an animal might lunge at them and rip their throats out. I guess in a way I was going to do that. "Go back a few feet." My friend whispered. I carefully distanced myself from the group and waited. "Where is she?" I quickly snapped the stick as soon as he finished asking the question. They stopped and two soldiers raised their lanterns to shine its light in the darkness. I quickly hid behind a tree before both of them turned where I was. A low frustrated growl came from one of the men, "The girl's playing with us. She's out here following our every move." How paranoia can cloud the mind. At nine years old, Silver decided to leave her village for the forest. Since then, she's been hunted; everyday is a fight for her life, every breath she takes could be her last, but she's determined to stay alive. Her life isn't the kind anyone would want to live but she's managed to survive this long so, what's a few more years?
