Sixteen-year-old Prov is thrilled to thrive in her first college-level mathematics class. But she knows that something is awfully wrong when she meets her new teacher. As Prov begins slowly unburying disturbing memories, she becomes tangled in scary situations at school with this teacher everyone loves. All the while, she suffers in silence... but will she break it? A story of what it feels like to be a survivor and to discover your inner strength. Based on my true story.
Trigger Warnings: descriptions of sexual assault and abuse (can be graphic), PTSD, mental health (anxiety), some drugs, family fighting, school bullies. Please take care of yourself if you're a survivor/thriver reading this.

"I feel the cold, wooden floor pressing into my shoulder blades. His adrenaline-infected breathing. My heart pounding a million times in my chest. My eyes focus on one of many puddles of sweat on his grey shirt. I feel the weight of his body on mine and the grip of his calloused hands on my forearms. And the whispering in my ears--the loving words used as a weapon against me...
I know now that it was not a nightmare. It was real.
And my calculus teacher was that man."
