The party was quite nice. The school year had just started. But there was too much alcohol, too many problems, and a unfortunate accident that would kill 5 kids, leaving many in grief. Cheating happened, death happened, rape happened, and brought people closer to each other than they've ever been. He never expects anything from anyone at all, looking after his mother who looks at him in disgust due to the past actions of his Father. He thinks he'll never share a spark with someone until he comes across her.
