Princess Katherine had always dreamed to travel, she wanted nothing more then to experience life outside of her sheltered kingdom and be free to explore and do as she pleased. But it is something her father would never allow, being a daughter of king means she must marry and provide future heirs for her husband which is the last thing Katherine wants.
King Derek had been alone most of his life, his mother had died birthing him and his father on the eve of his coronation to become King. He did not want a wife or anything to change they way he has been living but he is in need of a heir.
In order for both Katherine and Derek to get what they want, they agreed to a marriage of convenience. Katherine will provide Derek a heir and then she is free to travel the 7 seas.
