Forbidden Touch
Kim Torres expected her first job after graduation to be a fresh start. She didn't expect her new boss to be the hottest-and most infuriating-man she'd ever met. Mr. Collins is rich, intimidating, impossible to read, and far too accustomed to getting his way. From the moment they meet, Kim can't stand him. At least, that's what she keeps telling herself. Because beneath every argument, lingering glance, and moment that lasts a little too long, something neither of them wants to admit is growing. Kim tries to resist him. He's her boss, after all. We all know the classic story of a girl who lost her glass slipper running away from her dreams, and racing back to her sad reality of being a peasant maid for her own step-mother and step-sisters, the only family she has left. Yes, this is a story based on none other than the character of Cinderella. However...this rendition of telling the tale is quite different. This quick-read is all written in the form of haikus; a form of poetry that is written in a 5/7/5 syllable count. In this story, you learn about the lives these characters really lived behind the scenes of the happily ever after that we all know to be. You'll discover rich amounts of character development from minor characters and learn major mic-drops about the major characters. I hope you enjoy reading and visualizing the lives of various characters and what they may have been thinking throughout this story!
