He traced the small mark that was just behind his ear. He didn’t have to see it to know what it was, or exactly where the nearly miniscule numbers were located. The number had been there since he was born and he had seen it enough times to have memorized it completely. It was, after all, the most important number he would ever come across. He knew that somewhere out there, one other person held the same mark as him, and that’s what kept him going.

Everybody has them, they are just a mark that, maybe, shows up on your body. It's as common as a belly button. But, for Jihyo, it should have meant something more. It did, but not how she hoped, and she found herself learning how to face it from someone much more broken than herself.
