I was told a long time ago that everyone has a demon. The demon would grant you anything but in return, you must carry out a promise, and if you fail, you die.
Of course, I didn't believe any of that. Until.. I was 15. Life as a teenager got tougher and I was going through a lot of shit.
So, I made a wish. And that's when my life changed. Sacrifices were made. And lets just say everything got better but worse.

Every year, my town chooses a sacrifice for the demon that "watches over" our home. In exchange for a person from the village between the ages of 17 to 25, the demon protects our village. And because of that pact, our village is protected for the next year, under the demon's watchful eyes. No one knows what happens to those who the demon chooses, but there's a lot of theories about it. One is that the demon eats or absorbs those who are chosen - another, that it kills them. But this year, I'm the one who's chosen. I get to meet the demon I've feared since I was a child, and now that I'm 24, and am considered an adult, I could have left the village behind. But I didn't. Something inside me told me to stay. Now, I'm going to die. I just know it. I can't leave now, or run away, because the town would be unprotected for a whole year, and that's where my family lives. I don't know what to do, but I'm sure I'll think of something. Besides, how bad can this demon be if they're guarding our town?Concluida
