Colors were what I had.
    I didn't need anything else.
When I was little, my dad once told me: "You're so very gifted. You're just like your mother." That was the first time I ever told him about the colors. From that day on I would write what colors i saw and what I thought they meant. But everyday that I discovered new colors outside of our little house, the colors from inside the house faded and left a dull grey in its place.
The grey consumed my father but I refused to let it consume me too.
So I painted. I painted the colors to keep the grey away. I painted them so I wouldn't forget what they looked like.
But... then there was Miles McKillen and I was introduced to a whole new arrangement of colors.

As a boy who struggled with the death of his mother and a depressed father, Evan had found his own way to keep himself from falling into depression as well. He meets a rugged boy named Miles and soon his life picks up at an alarming rate. Evan is faced with more hardship than anyone could ever ask for and Miles does his best to keep the Many Colors of Evan Peterman alive.

"Leo pinned me against the wall with his hips. His hands gently gripped my wrists, keeping my arms above my head against the cool brick behind me. His quicksilver eyes were filled with such an intense, carnal desire I couldn't even look into them, so I looked over his shoulder. I saw a few kids from the group standing out by their cars who would easily be able to see what we were doing...or at least what Leo was doing to me. At that moment, my mind started wandering to all the things that I could be doing to him right now...but I stopped that train of thought immediately, as it started heading to all the wrong places... All the dirty places. I glanced back at Leo. His gaze was still as intense as it was before. He smirked at me and said confidently, "You can't ignore me forever, Ethan. You're eventually gonna fall for my charms..." Ethan Carter was focused on 2 things. 1. School (obviously) and 2. Getting over ex (it's proving to be, harder than he thought), but now he has to add dying to that list, and suddenly having feelings for a boy. Leo Malone makes Ethan feel things he's never felt for another guy. Leo's sweet, patient, and understanding...the only problem is, he's a guy. Ethan tries to ignore the fact that his heart flutters every time he sees Leo, or that he can't ever stop thinking about him, but if having cancer has taught him one thing, it's that you have to live in the present, as you may not have a future.

Why does life come with so many different possible answers to the same question? Which answer is the correct one and how do you know for sure? Finding your true self, amid all the decisions you're forced to make in growing up, is quite a battle, isn't it? I was doing okay. Really I was. Then I literally bumped into him and that was it. That was when everything changed. My life took a new turn and became an exciting adventure. I found myself swept along in a sea of change that I either had to swim along with, or sink and drown. It was a no brainer to swim but fully embracing the changes to the way I thought and felt was quite a journey. This is my story.
