"You're welcome to stay the night at my place, if you'd like."

What are you doing, Reed? The last time you offered some girl the comfort of your home you-

"If it's not too much trouble, I'd love to."

God, she's just too soft. You're gonna take advantage of her, Gavin. You're way too drunk to be-

"Nah, it's fine. It's only me and my cat that live there, anyways. Plenty of room."

Yeah, plenty of room to get into some deep shit.

Detroit, 2038. The year is almost coming to an end, and Gavin Reed decides to spend the last remaining hours drinking and smoking his life away in a local bar. He has no New Year's resolution, and no major plans for the future. His job with the Detroit Police Department had been forfeit after the android revolution, and he now works as a part-time associate at some smoke shop downtown. As if his life couldn't have gotten any worse, he now suddenly has to take on the challenge of taking care of a girl with a tragic backstory filled with betrayal and domestic violence. Who knows? Maybe she'll be the one to finally change his life for the better.

I won't lie I kinda hate myself for writing this but the ideas kept flowing so here we go It would take a long time for androids to be equal to humans, but at least the first steps had been made. Connor, a prototype for a detective android who managed to go deviant and form a friendship with an old police Lieutenant who drinks just a little too much was one of those androids who liked to believe he had a hand in the outcome of the Android Revolution. The rules were when the Deviant case was solved, Connor would return to Cyberlife, but now that androids were people he could stay in the police department- and you bet your ass he did. Everything was going smoothly for about a month or so until Connor and his best partner Hank are chasing after a serial killer and Connor gets injured on the job. Will Hank be able to finish the case without his partner there every step of the way? And an even bigger question: How will the Lieutenant handle Connors replacement - the RK900? Story length: 10,003 Words - This is based after the ending where everyone lives and they essentially get equal rights for androids - This is not Hank x Connor, it's more of a father/son relationship - Trigger Warnings: Cussing, drinking, bodies and typical crimescene environments, drugs, etc. - This is kinda a lazy fanfic- AKA I really love these characters and had a scene in my head, then formed a plot around it and did my best to make it interesting lol. - I made the cover in Desygner - Characters belong to the game Detroit: Become Human and the company that made it, Quantic Dream. Also I just want say that I wrote this story and then matched the cover and it matches so well like honestly wtf

A Detroit Become Human inspired story. A lot has changed since the revolution. Crimes against androids are now being treated with greater severity, with many being subject to the same penalties as crimes against humans. While anti-android attitudes are on the decline, transforming the mindset of an entire city is no simple task. A reluctant Gavin Reed and his new partner, RK900, have been assigned to investigate a string of disturbing murders. Despite the shift in Detroit's social climate, Gavin still holds reservations about whether or not androids are truly alive. Will his developing feelings for 'Nines' prompt a shift in perspective?
