Not quite sure about life, but not quite sure about death either, Milo struggles. His grades are above average, and he excels at baseball, but that's about it. Although he does well athletically and academically, he has no social skills whatsoever. Constantly picked on by people that he decides he is quite jealous of in that department, Milo isn't sure he'll survive his senior year.
Of course it's her last year of high school when she's being forced to leave. Leaving behind everything (including her extremely large family) behind her in Maine, Exa heads towards North Carolina where she'll be staying with her aunt due to family issues. She honestly thinks she'd be better if it weren't her senior year. But, with her straight As and knack for making friends, Exa decides to make the most of the situation.
When the two bump into each other on their first day, will a cute little study-buddy relationship blossom into something more?

"What are you doing here?" I ask but it comes out as a sob. I don't want him, or anyone for that matter, to see me like this. I'm a wreck. Wyatt doesn't seem to mind though. He softly brushes the remaining tears from my face with his thumb. "I saw you run out of the canteen, green eyes. I couldn't just leave you here to cry because that would go against the tutor code." "Tutor code?" I ask, puzzled. "Yes, the tutor code. It states that a student must make sure his tutor is never upset or crying and if he does ever find her like this it's his job to make her smile at any cost," he tells me. "You just made that up." Because trust me, its as fucked as you could possibly think. But being strong, he dealt with it. He put on the show and dealt with shit behind the curtains, no matter how hard it was for him. He had an ego, and had a terrible attitude, but for once, those two personalities got him the girl. On the first day of school, Aurora sits on Milo's seat- typical right? But Milo let's it slide, even with Aurora talking back. But as revenge? Filling up Aurora's locker with sand and humiliating her seemed like the best choice. An Unexpected Moment
... that changes everything Sarah was starting her junior year of high school. Looking at herself in the mirror, she saw a pretty average blonde haired, blue eyed, teenager. She was neither in the popular group, nor one of the many cliched outsiders. Sarah was a nobody. She liked to blend in and lay low. It was her way out of not only this town, but her house. No one knew it, but her father was a high functioning alcoholic that often took his anger out on his family. With her older sister now in college, it had turned to her more often. Laying low in general was a good strategy. Across town, Ryan was prepping for his final year in high school. While he wasn't the stereotypical quarterback of the football team, he did fit into the popular crowd. His sports of choice included basketball and soccer, either of which might line him up for a scholarship next year. Ryan had a group of close friends and a lot of adoring acquaintances. It wasn't easy juggling his athletics and keeping the grades up, but he was just that good. The supporting parents didn't hurt either. It might be a cliché romance, but it will be fun to see what the year and beyond holds. ------------------------------------------ This is a story I wrote years ago, or at least partially wrote.
