Holly Wells is dead.

When a brutal murder is committed, an accidental superhero emerges. But heroes always come with a weakness, and it's no surprise that the thing Holly fears the most is herself.

Holly Wells' world is divided by those with power, and those without. It's a simple of enough life for those without-- Holly goes to college, flunks tests, works mundane jobs, and occasionally talks to Peter Parker.

Peter is probably her best friend. He saved her life as his secret Spider-Man counterpart during last year's war, and she shows her gratitude by becoming his quiet, next-door friend.

After Peter is called to an Avenger's meeting during one of their regular hangouts, Holly is suddenly ambushed by two masked killers. She's left for dead in a puddle of blood and acid. The Avengers arrive a little too late and pull Holly's body from the rubble of the attack, sure that she is forever gone.

Holly always wanted to know what it'd be like to be a hero. And when she miraculously awakes with the power to turn invisible, she wonders if such a wish could be taken back.

Getting revenge is the only comfort she has, now.
