The year is 3000. Logan is fighting in the war, trying to please a cruel leader who will kill anyone who wrongs him. When the Leader of the Areidyan army is badly injured, Ari has to save him. With time running out for the Areidyan leader, Ari is thrown along big a new path, one she never imagined. Asking new friends, losing old friends, she continues onward with a destiny she never imagined, only her and Logan can end the war fought over Areidyan for so long.

Luckily for her, the chief of the Akiire tribe takes her in. Akiire medicine men and women fuss over her until they're sure she's safe. Then the Akiire initate her as a member of their tribe. She gladly accepts. She's started to like it there, after all. Then Helios starts talking to her. He's nothing special in the tribe. He's a good warrior, but all the warriors are good.
