Having your motion sensor alarm triggered at two in the morning is never a good thing-especially if you have a target on your back.

Emily Bennett is tired of traveling around the world and chasing story after story as an investigative journalist. She is tired of living-as her parents has always said-recklessly. Now that she is a successful murder-mystery writer, she thinks it is time to try and lead a normal life.
Time to settle down and live life quietly.
And she is doing just that-in the picturesque beach town of Anchorville, Oregon.
But two weeks after moving into her beautiful new home, a man triggered her motion sensor alarm at two in the morning.
Minutes later, she was in the living room-a gun in hand-facing down her intruder.
An intruder who is supposed to be dead.
Emily wants answers. Unfortunately, Alexander Lewis doesn't have any. He has lost his memories and is more confused about the situation than she is.
Emily doesn't know what to do. She is supposed to be done with being reckless. She can't possibly let Alexander stay, especially not when she suspects his aunt may be a murderer ... right?

[COMPLETED] When Angeline married Nathan Snyder, it was supposed to give her the perfect life. Her dream was shattered the first time her husband laid a hand on her, showing her that the life she'd married into was going to be anything but perfect. Now a twenty-five-year-old pastry chef, Angeline reaches a breaking point with Nathan's abuse when he does the unthinkable: he threatens her life. Angeline knows that this path only leads one of two ways: either she lives with Nathan and his abuse, or she allows him to take her life from her. Instead, Angeline chooses a third option. She risks everything-and runs. Escaping to a small, rural Texas community, Angeline changes her name to Aaliyah and hopes to start a new life. Traumatized by her past, she never expects to find comfort in another man again-until Jason Moore, a twenty-nine-year-old, winemaker and part-time sales associate sweeps her off her feet with more kindness and compassion than she's ever experienced. Angeline knows that Nathan would search the ends of the earth to find her and make her pay for leaving him. But when Angeline can't stop herself from falling for Jason, she's forced to face a difficult choice: Can she escape her past and be with Jason, or is she risking his life by loving him?
