If The Flip Flop Fits

"Come on Dylan! It's summer vacation! The first two weeks of it!" I whined. My best friend rolled his eyes and glanced over his shoulder at me. "Now why would I want to spend the first two weeks of my bliss and freedom at some old beach house with your ugly ass?" He teased. I laughed sarcastically. "Because it's the beach and its seaside. It's also a chance to meet some hot guys without your mom asking every possible question about whoever you meet." I say pointedly as I add an extra pair of shorts into my open suitcase. It's also the last summer before our senior year and it'd be the first summer we actually did anything of any significance I added in my head. "Oh and you don't think she'd call every hour on the dot to do just that?" He replies, lips pierced in arrogance and know-it-allness. I sighed dramatically. "Fine. I guess I'll just go to my family's beach house all alone, with no one to talk to other than the seagulls." I exclaimed in fake excitement. He chuckles and throws his hands in the air. "Fine I'll come." He surrenders. I jump around in victory and pick up my last pair of flip flops before letting them drop in satisfaction into my suitcase. "Besides. What could possibly happen in two short weeks?" I ask, with no idea that my world would soon be flipped up, down and all around.
