"That's how the entire experience has been: unreal."
Meet Rhea Jefferson, a thirteen-year-old who lives with her parents and her sister, Millie. She leads an ordinary teenage life: having fun with her family, groaning through her school week and drinking a white mocha (2 packets of sugar) with her best friend Harry at the local cafe, Cocobean, every Monday and Thursday after school.
One day, she is playing in her backyard when she sees something shiny poking out from beneath the soil. She starts digging and finds a contraption, which changes her whole life.
Rhea, along with Harry, starts searching for those people who she never got to grow up with.
What if she doesn't realise that they are closer than they seem?
"The past is the past. I can't change that. But I have to find the people who could change my future."
