Seventeen year-old poetry adorer Verity embarks on a new life in beautifully bleak Edinburgh alongside her troubled family. They've been torn apart by the disappearance of her younger sister, Summer, just two years previous and attempt to patch themselves up in a new city so full of promise.
She meets Kat and her posse and becomes immediately embroiled in exciting college life full of weekend house parties, too much alcohol and a whirlwind of boy drama.
Throughout the journey, she meets Ash Jackson, a self-confessed college 'Jackass' with far too much arrogance and far too little charisma for her liking. When they're both assigned to the same project for their final piece, she learns a lot more about Ash than anyone really knows and begins to peel him back, layer upon layer...
