"I love you, Aspen," he said after he kissed me. My heart practically beat out of my chest.

Aspen Jacobs is just a regular freshman at her small shore-town high school. It's no secret that her older brother Aidan, whom she adores, is hooking up with nearly every girl in town, besides Ivy and Emerson, the only other two normal girls aka her best friends. Her dad seems to be slipping back into his alcoholic phase and to top it all off, a mysterious new kid arrives to town just in time for the summer festival. With crazy misadventures, full of drama, budding romances, and sloppy breakups, Aspen is going to need all the help she can get from her friends to pull her through the end of the school year, into the next.

They were inseparable - until they weren't. Now, they barely speak. Eighteen-year-old Amaria and Elias were childhood best friends. Late-night calls, secret handshakes, inside jokes - they knew each other better than anyone else. That is, until something happened in Year 13 that tore them apart. Whispers. Betrayal. Silence. Amaria is stepping into her first year of university-Year 14-with high hopes, a fresh start, and her best friend Zara by her side. She's ready to focus on her degree, leave the drama of secondary school behind, and grow into herself. But the past isn't done with her yet. Elias, the boy she ghosted after an emotional confession at the end of Year 13, is not only attending the same university-but he's in the same seminar group. What starts as stolen glances and awkward silences quickly reignites into tension, confusion, and the kind of chemistry that never really disappeared. Elias's older brother, Noah, is also on campus-more grounded and protective, offering occasional advice and support, especially when things between Elias and Amaria get messy. As Amaria balances her coursework, complicated emotions, and the realities of adulting, she's forced to reckon with the pain she left behind-and decide whether she's brave enough to stop running from it. Amaria's still guarded, still bruised by everything he didn't say back then. Elias? He acts like nothing happened, but there's guilt hiding behind his easy smile and that same look in his eyes whenever he's near her.
