Betsy Alvestad is newly divorced, a bit OCD, and completely terrified of losing her best friend, Jane. With a custody fight on her hands, the last thing she was looking for was love.

Gage Mendoza lost his wife in a tragic accident that he's never fully healed from. He was just trying to help one of his players realize his dream of playing in the Majors when he crossed paths with Betsy, the pretty single mom who's got her hands full.

Love is the last thing either of them had on their minds, but it's also the one thing they both need. Will true love prevail or does fate have other plans?

"You'll catch a cold, why didn't you take your jacket?" A voice said. I spun around, and my eyes locked with Marcus's eyes. "Hey," I said, my voice a little trembling from the cold, and I wrapped my arms across my chest, my shoulders stiffening. I had not expected that it would be so cold. My fingers dug into my sleeves, and I shifted my weight from one foot to the other, trying not to shiver too obviously. Marcus didn't answer right away. He just looked at me for a second, then stepped forward. Silently, he slid off his jacket and placed it over my shoulders. It was still warm from his body, heavy and soft, and I wrapped it tighter around me immediately. The inside smelled of him... fresh.
