After a accident leaves the upper half of Dulces' body scarred and unrecognizable, she chooses to take her leave from life as she knows it.  After dropping out of college, bidding her family farewell, and cutting off all other connections, she finds herself living in rural Wyoming, where she starts her new life, although inhibited and secluded.
