Remnants. Fragmented pieces of the past scattered across the world. Through people, stories, legends, and artefacts alike, the events of the past are compiled and remembered. Man takes great pride in stories of heroism, greatness and victory, doing their utmost to ensure these stories survive the test of time and are never lost with the passing of the ages. Although it cannot be denied that mankind is usually wise in learning from the mistakes of the darker patches of their past, sometimes man conveniently forgets there are also many stories of oppression, war, and despair, some of which still ripe in the minds of those who lived them, and when those remnants are pulled from beneath the dirt, it would not be surprising if they feel a spark of temptation to merely put them back and pretend they were never discovered. The mists of time will never completely be dispelled; the mysteries of the past will not all be solved; the relics of bygone days will not all be discovered. History is not one tangible object, rather it is a collection of memories, records, and events, or more specifically, of remnants.

"Just as Remnant's most prominent history of man and faunus kind reigns true, they are merely byproducts of a forgotten past. While most aspects of human history are revealed time after time in text, there is a lost fragment, faded away into legend. Here, I will explore that with my fellow audience-you people. Yeah yeah, I'm sure learning history is very boring. Get it all up now-I'll wait. In the meantime, it's time I educate you on what really set human progress forward and what precisely gave them a shot at life in the first place on an unforgiving world. For now, sit back and listen...and embrace your origins."
