War is tough on the world, on the government, on lives, but mostly on family. Watching someone you love walk away towards a plane going to a country filled with hate and danger. That is what pain feels like. More painful than thousands of blades stabbing you repeatedly, or burning alive. I have never wanted to feel that pain, no matter how tear jerkingly beautiful the homecomings are. But I did.
