Hanna Kling wants to die. So when her boyfriend cheats on her, she snaps. Enough is enough. Every little thing she's ever gone through comes crashing down and soon, she's done it. Hanna tries to kill herself. But that's the part where things get tricky. After being in a coma for about a month and a half, she wakes to find that her dad's in jail and she now has foster parents. It's not like she's new to the foster care system though. It's the fact that she gets to move from Illinois to California. Could Hanna's life be turning around? With this opprotunity, she has a clean slate. A fresh start. She begins to lie about where she came from and how she grew up. Things start to get better. She has friends. A new family. What would it feel like to wake up one day and find out your whole life was a dream? Peyton Comber has been in a coma for three years. But that's not the worst part: She lived an entire life inside of that coma. She was Olivia Wright: Amazing artist, class favorite, and valedictorian. But that was all just a trick of the coma. When she wakes up she discovers that her entire life as Olivia Wright was nothing more than a made up fantasy. Peyton can't figure out what's real and what's fake, she can't even tell who she is anymore. Was she the bubbly, fun-loving girl her parents tell her she was? Or the harsh, cold classmate Allie Baker says she was? And how does she feel about Steve Thompson, her boyfriend before the coma? Also what's the deal with Kevin, the nice guy that everyone seems to be afraid of? How did she even fall into the coma in the first place? Can she trust herself to make the right decisions? #First place in Teen Fiction in the Underdog Awards
