Excerpt from Chapter One;
"Well, well, well. If it isn't Bristol Klein herself. A little lonely, aren't you? Where's your date?" Lilly questions with a sly smile, clearly aware of my situation.
"Lilly," I leant up close to her ear, as if to tell a secret. "has anyone ever told you not to mix scallion creme cheese and onion bagels? Jesus Christ! My eyes are watering."
"That was an incredibly embarrassing thing to say, and completely uncalled for. I was only curious and had no intentions of teasing you for being stood up." Lilly declares loudly, drawing the attention of people several tables away.
"I think it's impossible for anyone to like you. After all, you are being stood up, and if you don't mind me asking, by who?" Lilly smirks, sending a red flash of irritation and anger through my body.
"Hey baby, sorry I'm late. Traffic is crazy tonight." Speaks a voice behind Lilly. Lilly turns, surprised by the unknown voice, and actually stumbles back in shock upon seeing who it is.
