"You guys are having fun in this duel, despite everything?" Yusei's words rang out in Judai's head. Fun? Dueling? Those two things hadn't crossed lines in a long time. The black haired teen looked at Atem, who was smiling. That smile was a true smile, nothing like Judai's act.
Since when were duels actually fun? Since before the other dimension, or before all the shadow duels the teen had endured..? Judai could barely remember having a fun duel at all recently. He'd just caused more darkness in the world. Caused more suffering. A sharp call of his name brought him out of his thoughts, and the brunette had to throw up another smile--when had he stopped?-and assured Atem and Yusei that he was fine. He wasn't.

"So, Judai," Yusei started, looking at his D-Wheel, "If we do meet again... will I be able to meet the real you?" He asked, bluntly yet hesitantly in a way that was so Yusei. Judai could only blink in response, his smile growing bittersweet. So he'd noticed. Hopefully Yusei never met the real him. Because the real him was a terrible person, had hurt so many. Someone like Yusei didn't deserve to meet someone like Judai. Yusei was hope and Judai was despair.
"If you're lucky? Never."

Waking up in a creepy place with no memories is scary. Reading people's emotions, seeing their darkest secrets and fears when I look into their eyes, seeing duel spirits, and having amnesia, while waking up in a creepy place is utterly terrifying! Meet... Well... Me. That's not my name though. I've been told my name is Cat Simmons and I live in Domino City, but I don't believe it. Then again what can I believe. Witness my adventure as I meet new people who act like they know me, make enemies that wish they didn't know me, and help save the world while I try to get to know me!!!! Yeah, fun. This story follows some details on the Yugioh 5Ds game and mostly the anime. But there are some differences from both. (Very Cringy in the beginning but gets better later on! This king was the ruler of Duel Monsters, and his power knew no equal, that was until he met the Sage. Waging battle after battle, he couldn't understand why he was the one being defeated, until he went to fight on the battlefield himself. One glance, and he almost fell in love on the spot, and battle after battle, which all led to even more defeats made the King's desire for the Sage grow. Time had passed, and eventually, the King decided to stop the fighting and call a truce with the Sage. But the peace treaty was proposed by marriage, which was a shocker for the Sage, but despite her protests, she took the deal. The Sage accepted out of wanting peace, but the King accepted out of passion and desire. With that union, the rift between Duel monsters and Spirits was bridged for eternity, and that's why Duel Monsters Spirits came to exist. This story was uncommon for the children's bedtime genre, but (y/n)'s parents told her the story every night when she was a kid. The same thing with Jaden's parents and Jesse's parents, too. It's baffling enough that they were told the exact same story, but why was it always about the Supreme King and the Great Sage?
