Susanna McGufrey, or Suzie, is a shy, constantly harassed redhead who loves to isolate herself with music. But she is always brought back into reality when odd occurrences seem to follow her wherever she goes and her peers at school always makes fun at her because of these odd phenomenons. Just when she thought life coudn't get any worse, she is attacked by an abnormally large wolf after running off into the forest near her home, a wolf that also bears characteristics of a human. After the incident she later discovers a secret passageway in the forest that leads to a realm filled with magical beings and creatures of a secret society. Suzie soon learns what she is, and what she has recently become.
