Imagine the possibility of everyday being your last. People able to murder one another, no government or law to stop them. A city torn down from natural disaster and raids, then only place still modern and clean is in the centre. A building where the only 'officials' are.

This is how Gemma lives. The constant thought of having a bullet sent through her skull looming in her mind. But one night every month is when things are truly a-wire. At 6pm, it comes out of it's home and fills it's stomach. People have the option of going into the very, very secure and impossible-to-break-into building. But that also means that everyone else in the building has the option to kill you. A risk either way, but always no way to escape.

This all started when Gemma was a young, thoughtless girl, and all of this slipped right past her. That is, until she had a confrontation with it. She witnessed it's special feeding ceremony on her mother, father, and older sister. It came up and faced her, but instead of seeing hunger in it's eyes, Gemma saw hopelessness and sorrow.

Gemma didn't think it had feelings, or that it was barely even a living creature, but the painful truth behind it comes out during one of the not-so-average monthly cycles. Will Gemma get the last shot, or will someone else shoot her before she has the chance to uncover the truth of the helpless 'it'?

I wrote this story a while back and only recently decided it re publish it. It has a mostly complete ending, the storyline hangs a little but you get the idea and all, I just got so exhausted and couldn't finish so I'm sorry for the bad grammar and incompletion. ❤️ ** "Out of all the absurd things I've heard humans say about love these have to be the most ridiculous; I've heard people say love is why we die, some part of me thought that that was absurd the other part knew it was true, that's why the only thing in this world I really care for is hate . The second one, is that is you love someone you don't give up, till death due us part, bullshit right," I never believed either of those things until I met him, he made me want to give up and keep fighting at the same time. ** This enemies to allies to lovers story follows the head of the Italian mafia, a woman, Ravenna Daniela Moretti, but nobody knows that, they all know her as Sovrana della morte, meaning ruler of death, she has made it a crucial point to hide her identity, not even the close circle of mafia know her, until her identity as well as very important information is at risk when the 4 inner mafia circle are hacked by a group of Russian hackers, she is forced to team up with the 3 other dons of mafia, America, France and Spain she reveals her identity to them. He hissed as the alcohol touched his bleeding wound and he grabbed my hand. His touch ignited a flame and I knew that later I might have to treat myself for burns. "I'm sorry, did that hurt?" I asked, softly. I tried to calm my breathing as I did so, he was so close. The years that I spent staying away from his kind weren't paying off. "No," He retorted sarcastically, still holding onto my hand. "I hissed because I'm a snake. Of course that hurt, pumpkin." His comment awakened several buried memories, but I ignored them and continued to work on his wound. "Could you please let go of my hand now?" I muttered. He smirked and shook his head. "Do I scare you?" he asked, completely ignoring my question. Even though he did scare me, he scared me completely biscuit-less, I rose my head up and shook my light brown waves. "Absolutely, not." ************************ Gemma Reynolds is an an overworked nurse and probably one of the most innocent and pure people you will ever meet. The book follows a protagonist whose mind begins to unravel as they are plagued by eerie occurrences that blur the line between reality and delusion. It begins with subtle shifts-a feeling of being watched, strange reflections, whispers at the edges of perception-but as the story unfolds, these sensations grow more intense and impossible to ignore. The protagonist starts questioning their own sanity, struggling to differentiate between what's real and what's in their head. Is someone-or something-watching them, or are they simply losing their grip on reality? As they spiral deeper into paranoia, the boundaries of their own identity begin to fracture, and they realize they may not be the only one in control of their mind. With each passing day, the tension grows, and the truth becomes harder to discern. The story keeps readers on edge, with unreliable narration and distorted imagery that makes them question everything. As the protagonist's mental state deteriorates, the lines between the observer and the observed blur, and the final revelation leaves the reader wondering if they're trapped in this madness alongside the character. A chilling psychological thriller, this book explores the nature of reality, self-awareness, and the terrifying idea that what you think you know may be nothing more than a reflection of something far darker.
