Many had thought that Atlantis had sunk into the sea. But instead, it had floated up into the sky. The Gods had deemed such a marvel of a place worthy enough to be brought up into the clouds with them.

Jace Herondale is a young pilot, and an experimental aircraft constructor. While attempting to fly around the world, he went off course and was forced to land on an unknown mass in the sky. Captured by what appeared to be the "police force" of the unknown city, Jace is taken to the castle where he meets Clary, the ruler of Atlantis. And it's up to her, to decide his fate.
