A Rosy Dream

I loved how my life was going so far. I had a, what others would call it, a boring life and I liked it that way. I had a roommate who never gave me trouble and a job that kept me at home. Sometimes she'd never be home and stay with her boyfriend and I liked that too. One day though, she brought him over and everything changed. They were sitting in the living room, talking and laughing while I was in my room, watching Bones. Then I heard a big thud as silence followed. I go out and see them lying on the floor, unconscious. A man jumps out of thin air as he runs to her. He holds her in his arms as I panic. He tells me I can help and that he needs me to save her. What happened to my boring life?
