Remi Fox may seem happy. She may seem like she is passionate about her future, and that she is living her best life, as her "best self."
But it's not the outside that we should focus on.
It's the battles that happen on the inside. Depression starts as something you disregard, calling it a mere "phase"-- but it will slowly progress into something much, much bigger than you could imagine, and eventually, it will consume you.
As if depression wasn't enough-- for the past couple years of her life, Remi has had to deal with bullies that seem like their one and only goal, is to tear Remi's life apart. And the bullying wouldn't have gotten so bad, if it weren't for that stupid Facebook hacker.

Her friends are still there, well a few at least, her girlfriend had broken up with her, yes, but she didn't have time to care, and, the new english teacher caught all of her attention anyways.. Hanna wasn't popular, people didn't seem to hate her, but they just did not care about her, but everything was fine, she had friends, her parents were still together and school went on fine. Why do bad things happen to good people? A question that his boy is making himself more then ever this days. From the beginning we see a 17 year old boy, struggling to finish high School, filled up with insecurities, mental health issues, a toxic family home, and impossible standards to live up to. He has learn to not only hate his life, but to want finish it off as fast as possible. Close to finally graduating high school his English teacher, Mr Steve, assigns the class a special progect. "To be able to see life through different eyes, and write about it." For this, Mr Steve gets his class to assist a hospital 3 times a week, and assigns each student, with a patient. This is the moment where this boy meets Royal, a cancer sick 17 year old girl, that has lived in a hospital her hole life, but still finds beauty and meaning in it. Through out the report the boy gets more and more involved in Royal's life, spending unfortunately moments together. But through out the journey he asks himself more and more. It sucks one in for no apparent reason, making one feel a sense of worthlessness and inadequacy. Cadence knows depression and has had it for years, but never had the confidence to tell her parents. Her life was like a shit show, her mum was a crack head and was in a mental institution. Her dad- after finding out about her brother- was hardly ever there, and when he was, he was drunk. She lived her life on her own, doing her own shopping, her own cooking and had her own job. He had a lot of friends. But he still felt alone, they never really understood him, or his life. They were friends at least, but he would never call them close. He lived with his mother after his dad left him as a child. They had a big house- his mum worked as an assistant and was very highly paid. His mum did most of what he needed, but they didn't see each other much- she was too busy wrapped up in her job. He saw her everyday, walking down the school corridor, with her head down. His friends laughed at her and so he laughed too. Only to hide how he really felt. He loved her. And he didn't know how.
