After the accident Charles has a lot of things to get used to. Instead he gets depressed. Erik on the other hand is determined to help him despite his resistance and despite how much Charles hates Erik. Slowly their fighting turns into a beautiful friendship and maybe even more. But Charles can't shake the feeling that Erik's only doing it out of guilt...

Taming the Wild by Cherikella

A Cherik Wild West AU: Mutants in the Wild West. Charles Xavier finds himself crossing the entire ocean to America to find his sister Raven. However the task turns out to be more difficult than he expected because Raven is nowhere to be found. In the meantime Charles settles in a small town where he starts a new life as a school teacher. There he meets Erik Lehnsherr - the town's blacksmith. Although at first he believes Erik is the rudest person he's ever met, the two start a friendship and Charles becomes a teacher to Erik's kids. However both Charles and Erik have their own little secrets that no one should ever uncover. Would Charles find his beloved sister and is she still alright? Would Erik's tragic past haunt him forever and prevent him from finding his happiness? Would Charles have the guts to admit that his feelings for his new friend are a bit past the line of friendship? After I hit Charles, paralyzing him from the waist down, I felt obligated ask if wanted to stay at my house till he could get back on his feet, metaphorically of course. He had seemed lonely, in a sense. But who knew he would make such an impact on my family. I was struck by Erik's car and I forgave him, it wasn't his fault. He offered me a place to stay till I got the hang of my new life style, an offer I couldn't decline. I found that they were rather poor and since I came from a sickeningly rich family, I decided to pay for a few things. But who knew he would make such an impact on my life. When Erik hits Charles while driving home to his two children, Peter and Wanda, he is filled with guilt. Charles, being the person he is, forgave him. Charles is lonely and having a hard time adapting to his new life, seeks help in Erik, and slowly, Falling in love. Cherik modern AU
