Bexley Westbay is quite insane. Or, at least, that's what everyone thinks and she's happy of it. When she and 99 other delinquents from the Ark are sent to the ground, she has one thought in mind: stay alive no matter the cost. And in order to do that, you can't let anyone or anything get in your way. What better way to accomplish that than have everyone think your crazy? And, perhaps, she believes it herself.

After 97 years since humanity fled to space due to a nuclear war that rendered Earth uninhabitable, 100 juvenile teens-whose crimes have made them expendable-are sent to test its habitability, as the life-support resources in the space station, the Ark, are dwindling. Or Aspen Valet had been anticipating for the day she'd turn 18 and the Council would float her for her crimes, only to find herself aboard a dropship with 99 other delinquents heading towards Earth. Tensions run high, trust is scarce, and survival is far from guaranteed. Thrown into a world none of them understand, the hundred must decide what's more dangerous-the Earth beneath their feet, or each other. Survival isn't a given. BOOK I: The Reasons - the ground is unforgiving. So is survival. Madison Cameron was born in space, a child of the Ark, never feeling the sun on her skin or breathing the fresh, unfiltered air of Earth. They are the last hope of mankind, a fragile chance for survival. The Earth they land on, however, is nothing like they imagined. It's not a fresh start or paradise - it's a nightmare. The air is toxic, wildlife monstrous, and every step is a battle for survival. The Earth is alive, but it's unforgiving. Amidst this chaos, Madison and Bellamy Blake find themselves at the forefront, taking on the roles of leaders. Both carry the heavy weight of responsibility, knowing that the survival of the remaining human race rests in their hands. They both strive to protect their people, to do whatever it takes to ensure their survival. But where Madison is focused on the harsh reality of survival-pragmatic, calculating, determined to keep them alive - Bellamy's vision is driven by something more abstract: freedom. Having been ripped out of her mother's arms right after being born a minute later than her twin, Wren Jordan was sent to the Sky Box on the Ark. Now a year later all 100 juvenile criminals are being sent to the ground and she's the youngest among them. She's shy, quiet and keeps to herself at first as she doesn't know anyone, but once she gets to talking to Bellamy Blake, the stowaway who committed a heinous crime to protect his sister and Jasper Jordan the geek with the goggles she starts to come out of her shell a little more. The 100 are forced to build a camp from the ground up with no help from any adults. But how can a bunch of teenagers survive a radiation-soaked planet? [Season 1] *disclaimer* I don't own any character expect for Katherine Kane (a few other originals that'll pop up along the way). The plot belongs solely to the CW "the 100" writers and producers. It's based loosely on the book series but follows (for the most part) the plot of the CW show.
