He stepped in front of me and smiled. Shoulder still high, hands still in pockets.
I snatched his jaw and yanked him down to me in a hard kiss.
He groaned when I bit his lip.
He didn't understand that there was no winning over me. It was like there isn't any wining against a flash flood, or a quake, or a wildfire. There was only surviving me.
I pulled back. Deria straightened slowly.
