Hailee vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda

Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly lesbian Hailee Steinfeld prefers to save her drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, her secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now Hailee is actually being blackmailed: If she doesn't play wingman for drama queen Dinah, her sexual identity will become everyone's business. Worse, the privacy of Avocado, the pen name of the girl she's been emailing with, will be jeopardized.

As her email correspondence with Avocado grows more flirtatious every day, Hailee's junior year has suddenly gotten all kinds of complicated. Hailee has to find a way to step out of her comfort zone before she's pushed out- without alienating her friends, compromising herself, or fumbling a shot at happiness with the most confusing, adorable girl she's never met.
