The Elves cannot leave Middle-Earth as Sauron has destroyed the Grey Havens making it impossible for them to leave for Valinor. They would have to unite with free people to overthrow Sauron and rebuild Mithlond. Many Elves including Elmar find their peaceful lives shattered as the darkness descends.

The four towers of Valier [Lotr] ✔
The four towers guarding over the inner ring of the massive stronghold were the first thing travelers would see when riding up to the Grey city of Valier. It is held by an immortal race of men. These men, despite them not being bound to the fate of mortality, were not remotely similar to elves in their appearance. They were created by Manwë, Ulmo and Melkor on accident when their enourmous energies crashed, fused and birthed from bare rock, water, fire and air a living, breathing creature. Their appearance and temper was a reminder of their creation. Isolated from the folks of middleearth they lived a life amongst their own, hailing their creators and the Iluvatár as their highest gods. They were the only folk that still spoke the name of the forsaken Valar with worship in their hearts. I do not claim any ownership of the Lord of the Rings franchise. The closing of an age
The Third age draws to a close and the Fourth begins. The world is once again at peace for a time, and the time of men begins. Thranduil's people, being elves, began to gradually filter from the mortal land of Aman, and he was determined to be there to see the very last of them off, even when only five of them remain. The Odyssey of the daughter of the forest
In the dark forest of Mirkwood, shadows are growing, again and again. The leaves are becoming black, as the roots, and as the trees. Birds are not singing anymore. Flowers have disappeared. Even the sun has trouble to light the ground of the forest, once so alive and full of colours. A young elf with red hair is fighting every day for her people, who is retreating before its enemy, who is sending his troups from his black tower, in the south of Middle Earth. Orcs are coming, more and more numerous on their lands. The company of Thorin Oakenshield from the Blue Mountains will not succes to put an end to this invasion. Their fight will just postpone the deadline, by sacrifying many lives, and destroying many others. And by seperating for a while the path of two lovers, who are destined to meet again. Sixty years later, the elf joins the fellowship to save Middle Earth, once and for all, from the threat that are gliding above its people, for a long time.
