Cobie Jordan's life is perfect. Lawyer dad. Socialite mother. Doting Princeton grad on her arm. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but this is one story that isn't as picture perfect as it seems. Finally reaching her breaking point, Cobie drops everything and takes to the open road in the hopes of not only finding herself, but finding the freedom she never had. One unplanned pit stop later, she's finally feeling like her life is in her control and that leaving the past in the rearview was the best decision she's ever made. The thing is, the past has a problem staying in the past. Elliot Graham's life isn't going according to plan. In fact everything seems to be falling apart at the seams. After surviving a runaway bride and having to worry over the woman who raised him, he's just waiting for someone to put in the last nail of his coffin. Living day to day on the family ranch in his Texas hometown, he's finally coming to terms with this new chapter of his life. That is, until trouble rolls in wrapped in a pretty package of fierce green eyes and killer legs. One thing Elliot knows he doesn't need is trouble. But he's safe because he didn't spend all this time building up his walls for nothing. The funny thing is, no matter how strong, walls have a way of coming down. Hard. This is my new project. I'm working on it right now so more updates will come though they might be slow. Please be patient and let me know what you think! :) XOXO LEFT_BRAINED_CHILD WARNING: LANGUAGE, SEXUAL CONTENT, VIOLENCE All Rights Reserved © 2014

Jessie White stands out from the crowd. As a Southern woman, she defies the typical expectations. While others her age are embarking on new careers, Jessie's upbringing on a ranch alongside four brothers equipped her with skills many would balk at. She's adept at horseback riding, calving, stall cleaning, and more. Fiercely independent, Jessie refuses to rely on any man, a resolve hardened after heartbreak at the hands of Max Lane, a rancher's son, two years prior. Jessie has resolved to take up bull riding, a skill that appears to be a family legacy. Her lifelong dream has been to ride a bull before an audience, but now, her ambition has shifted to rescuing the White Family Ranch after a substantial portion of their funds vanished and debts began accumulating. Max Lane's family is eager to buy the White Family Ranch, but Jessie refuses to let him take away the one thing that sustains her. Being a beauty bartender owner and a female bull rider makes things challenging. Everyone says she can't do it because she's a woman, but Jessie is determined to prove them all wrong. Initially skeptical, Trace Black doesn't recognize her potential until he witnesses her mount a bull for the first time. Although he may appear arrogant externally, that pales in comparison to his internal complexity. Trace and Jessie are initially oblivious to their chemistry, though it's evident to everyone around them. As Jessie gathers the courage to express her feelings to Trace, the things she dreads occur. However, it doesn't make matters worse; it alters everything profoundly. *WARNING* Book contains language, child loss, trauma, etc. Thank you for choosing my story!
