Yelena Hart was once an orphan of District Eight, adopted by one of the factory managers and his wife as a babe. Unlike her peers, she seemed of the more fortunate, always having enough food, toys and adequate schooling. However, they could never be more wrong. For the moment that she was born, her fate was threaded into the silk of the stars by a poisonous hand with a vengeful grudge. It was only a matter of time before his prophecy would fulfill itself.

And when Yelena's name was called at the Reaping of the Sixty-Seventh Hunger Games, it had only just begun.

She fought better than one would expect from a poorer District. Those watching presumed it was a combination of luck, a lifetime of being well fed compared to her fellow tributes, and an innate desire to survive. It mostly was.

However, even when she fought brilliantly in that Arena, it wasn't quite enough. Because as the final fight of the Sixty-Seventh Hunger Games ensued, Yelena Hart was killed. Dead. Heart completely stopped.

But not before her adversary, the tribute of District One.

Desperate to give the people a Victor, the Capitol Medical Staff worked tirelessly to revive her. And after being dead for six minutes, they finally presented her to them.

A victor that goes by The Revenant certainly attracts a lot of attention.

So as years of mentoring pass, she eventually catches the eye of the Capitol's Darling. Finnick Odair has always flirted with Death.

But now he just might fall in love her.

- You guys should remember this one, and you better. Jolene Kensington. - Haymitch announced, pressing his presentation forward to show the image of the young woman getting reaped. - Yeah, I remember. - Although Katniss wouldn't admit it out loud, she actually rooted for the girl while watching her games. - Good! Just like you, sweetheart, she's the first ever and only female victor of her district, 10. Very dear to the Capitol, they are devastated to see her going back into the games. - As the mentor explained, all three of them watched the footage of the girl looking directly into the camera, her delicate eyes shinning confidently as she displayed a smile. - What's her strategy? - Peeta asked, interested in knowing more about the girl who didn't look like much of threat from the outside, but probably shouldn't be underestimated according to Haymitch's description. - Despite being likeable? - Haymitch said sarcastically. - Well, surprisingly, she's very skilled at hand to hand combat. - Ok, that's easy, I can just take her out from afar with the bow then. - Katniss dismissed the problem, visibly relieved of knowing how to defeat at least one of the many strong opponents she would be going up against. - See, that's where you're wrong. - Haymitch casually cut off her suggestion, moving closer to sit on top of the coffee table and staring his two tributes in the eye. - You're not gonna fight her, you're gonna ally with her. ❝Welcome to hell! Tell me, how does it feel to be Snow's new puppets?❞ ➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳ A Victor's child is probably the most prestigious title anyone could have in the Capitol's opinion. Maybe even for the Districts. But the reality wasn't as great as they made it look. Dove Ogilvy, the youngest out of the three adoptive children of Librae Ogilvy, came to realise this at a very young age. The Hunger Games, the tributes, the deaths, even the Victors were all part of a massive show for the Capitol. No one could escape it. And for Victor's children, the reaping was just a formality. None had achieved to escape fate. Everyone knew they would get reaped eventually. And in District Four's case, they were thrilled for that to happen to the Ogilvy family. Dove was determined to volunteer. Angelique Ogilvy, her older sister, had all the odds to be reaped for the 66th Hunger Games. But she wouldn't let that happen. Volunteering at the age of thirteen wouldn't be smart, but she couldn't let her sister die for someone's corrupted show. However, President Coriolanus Snow had other plans for her. She didn't know, but her games started way before the voice of Claudius Templesmith declared the countdown. Let hell begin, and may the odds be ever in your favour. ➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳ (Pre-Hunger Games-Mockingjay) I do not own the Hunger Games or any of the characters, except the Ogilvy kids and some side characters. DISCLAIMER ➳➳➳ This was my first fanfic, so the writing isn't exactly top-notch. A rewrite is already in motion and being slowly published apart from the original.
