The world changed forever after the Awakening. It activated long dormant genetic code, giving people degrees of telekinetic abilities, known as Talent.  As certain that power corrupts, the Dynasties arose.  To the favored upper classes came freedom and luxury, to the lower classes repression and poverty.  The Blue Uprising emerged to overthrow the oppressive Dynasty.

Terra Lorr was a top agent for the Blue Uprising, a stealthy spy and deadly assassin.  As atonement for blowing a mission, she was sent to a remote province to find a mythical 'Hooded Man', if he existed at all.  What she found was Will Sall, an enigmatic man who already knew far too much about her.  He opened her eyes and challenged her to reexamine the cause she served, all the while touching deeply her heart.  But there existed an unsettling darkness about him, one that could upset the very basis of the society they lived in.

This is their story.

Attractive strangers Lucas and Cara were living normal, uncomplicated lives until sought by a group of bounty hunters. The price on their heads is high because the gifts they possess are priceless. They run for their lives but it doesn't take long to realize they can't run from their growing attraction for each other. Oof, that description was painful. This is a hobby project intended to work some creative muscles, which is why you may see iterations of the same characters in my stories. While not true fan fiction, this work is inspired by several of my favorite movies and film characters. I like to drop lines from these movies and characters as little Easter eggs. If you can spot them give them a shout-out in the comments. As this is essentially a glorified creative writing project, I haven't done the type of deep research that goes into a professional novel. I'm always receptive to constructive criticism that helps to improve my writing.

At first, Dayna thinks everyone is playing a horrible joke on her -- blaming her for doing things she wouldn't normally even think of doing. To add onto that, the new guy at school hates her guts for reasons she doesn't understand. But then, she realizes something just isn't adding up. She's blamed for things she's quite sure she didn't do and between taking detentions, to making out with other girls’ boyfriends and getting arrested, Dayna has had enough. She wants to know who is impersonating her and why. Fed up with the situation, she confides in her robotic scientist parents who shamefully admit that they had created a perfect clone of her…that somehow managed to escape. Amid the huge mess her life has become, she meets Kyle, who is an agent assigned to her to keep her safe from her so-called clone. He is also the new boy at school that has an unadulterated hatred for her. Kyle is more man than boy, who has a cynical outlook at life, and a very black and white way of looking at things. As the school term ends and she graduates, Dayna finds herself having a very interesting summer filled with planning, strategizing, and an unknown attraction towards Kyle. To reach his objective, Monarc destroys experimental results, aspirates thoughts of the ruling class with his topcortex, kills a famous astronaut and destroys his heart given to replace Telio's. Monarc wants to impose on Dax an artificial heart for Telio. By controlling the cardiac implant of Telio, Monarc will dominate Dax. Dax changes the rules of the game and will pay the ultimate sacrifice even if she unveils her secret.
