Tracou Vartanian, a provincial dezmek lord, travels to the capital of a foreign land to see the wares on offer at the Gathering of Merchants. Mirthal Yiva, the Prince of the Elves, travels to that same capital for a taste of freedom. Their paths collide and Tracou finds himself entangled in a distinctly Elvish mess. With Mirthal's retainer hot on his heels, Tracou helps him leave the city. A dezmek and an elf walking around the city did not go unnoticed, though, leading Tracou to be captured and dragged across the continent by Mirthal's retainer, a blue-haired elf, and Ina, an aloof human. Mirthal, on the other hand, wanders peacefully into another country, none the wiser about Tracou's predicament. Stripped of his magic by Mirthal's retainer, Tracou has no choice but to bide his time. Usually updates on Fridays. The romance will be a slow burn--the main couple are apart for a lot of the first book.

This is a story of Ren and Yiren - two very different young men whose paths cross in a quiet coastal town. Ren, withdrawn and seeking solitude, wants to disappear into his new life. Yiren, warm and magnetic, arrives late but leaves a lasting impact. Through quiet moments, missed chances, and small acts of care, the story gently explores how connection can form where it's least expected - and how some people change us simply by showing up.
