Eighteen-year-old Emily Rose thought she had rid herself of Rueben Avon the minute his music career took off. Rude, callous and aloof, the boy had ripped her heart out and eaten it. So, when the wreckage of a man she used to know crashes back into her life, Emily is determined to let sleeping dogs lie and leave old feelings behind. 
   That is, until she realises that Rueben is carrying a burden too large for him to handle on his own. Love and hate are two sides of the same coin—but Emily knows shedding her pride and allowing Rueben to gamble with her emotions again is a bet too risky to take. Doesn’t she?
