Why? That seemed to be a question you've been asking yourself a lot lately. Growing up in the underground was tough. You needed to fight for survival, food, money, and even-your freedom. Danny, you're despicable "father", had you stealing from him any chance he got. He was slick and manipulative. Having to steal valuables for him all while taking care of two kids, Kai and Mary, was really hard. The responsibility you held was weighing down on you, making you think more about them and less about you. You didn't mind though. Anything to stay away from the sinful place you call home. After a while of putting up with Danny though, you had you're last straw ripped away when he hurt you're beloved Mary. You ran away to start a new life, taking Mary with you. You become known as "Shade", a mysterious cloaked criminal known for your stealth and strength. You took pride in your reputation, and the best part was, nobody knew anything about you. From your face down to you're gender, it was all concealed. It was all cloaked. But all this changed once they found you. They took you in, capturing you to mold you into a soldier fighting for the survey corps. You despised the survey corps at first. After all, they stole you from your home. She was bright and cheerful at first but since your brothers didn't accept her, and your father barely paid attention to her, she started to act differently. Your new mother wanted to make her daughter the princess of the L/n family, and she will do anything, anything at all to make it happen. The first step was getting you out of the picture. Little by little, with staged accidents which her daughter gladly played the part, their love, trust, and respect for you disappeared. The pair always played the victim, accusing you of not wanting them to be apart of the family. Years flew by with this torment, no matter how much your pleaded, begged them to realize that you would never do any of that. They never listened, and the breaking point came when you finally realized that nothing will ever change. It will always be her, not you. So, the first chance you got you left that house. Best decision you could ever make. The small cramped apartment might be a drastic change from your lavish bedroom, but you were away from them. You wanted to turn a new leaf in this small city and have a normal loving life. Who knew that you'd be living a life far from normal as a horror circus rolls into town and you catch their attention when you saved their quiet Pierrot. The love you so craved from family, he will give it to you, destroy anything that dares to snuff it out, and give you all that is his. Though, he might not be the only one...
