Bounced from place to place, Seren has learned everything she could about weapons and fighting, with her promise to keep watch always in the back of her mind. And when she finally tracks Thorin down, she fully intends to keep that promise. Thorin, however, has different plans. Saffron, a young woman--in the eyes of most-- and her uncle hesitate in the thought of joining the company in the cause of past memories with Saffron's parents. They accept the invitation to the dangerous lands of Middle-Earth, despite the evil that had been growing stronger every following day.
