Rae Thompson was 20 years old when she ran off to Fay Cross, Colorado, desperate to start over and forget the life she left behind. She was able to move on for a long time, beginning a new life as the local librarian with a strict weekly routine. 

Five years later, a book is donated at the library with a hand carved title: The Land in the Sky. It appears to be nothing, until it turns up the next morning in her OWN HOUSE with words magically forming on the pages; Words that bring up a night she swore she'd never think about again.
