What is sleep? I don't know what it is but I already don't like it. You have to use time to "recharge" just to miss out on everything that had already happened.
17 year old Blythe gets to understand how sleep works, well not really. She can't fall asleep. She could die if she fell asleep, everything terrible happens during sleep. Now sleep, to Blythe, is considered a nocturnal haven where she cannot tred unless she wants to suffer. The monsters follow her around and they attack her during sleep. Sleeping. Is. A. Whole. New. Hell.

Every year, my town chooses a sacrifice for the demon that "watches over" our home. In exchange for a person from the village between the ages of 17 to 25, the demon protects our village.
