I'm sorry to say that the story you are looking at is extremely unpleasant. It tells an unhappy tale about a very unlucky young woman and her three siblings. Even though they are all charming and clever, the Baudelaire siblings seemed to lead lives filled with misery and woe. From the very first page of this book when they are at the beach and receive terrible news, continuing through the entire story, disaster lurks at their heels. One might say they are magnets for misfortune. In the midst of this misery and misfortune, Ashlyn seemed to find an unlikely companion and form of comfort.
In this short book alone, the young woman and three youngsters encounter a seemingly greedy repulsive villain, itchy clothing, a disastrous fire, a plot to steal their fortune, and cold porridge for breakfast.
It is my sad duty to write down these unpleasant tales, my research is not yet complete so I cannot say if these miserable events continue, but nothing is stopping you from this book down at once and reading something happy, if you prefer that sort of thing.
With all due respect,
Lemony Snicket
I'm in the process of editing this book any chapter title written like ◽The ???? ???? Part ???◽ has been edited.
